After an absence of 2 years, the Keyworth Village quiz returned in 2022.
The Keyworth Village Quiz sees competing teams from the village face each other on the Keyworth Village Hall stage. Teams of four people come from local community groups. They answer four rounds of questions with the final round being a fastest finger round with teams pressing their Bells or Buzzers to have the chance to answer.
The quiz was started in 1976, by Derek Oakley who’s wife Kath is centre stage on the photograph opening this years’ competition. It also shows the Keyworth Allotments team on the left ready to play the Keyworth Show team on the right. The Show team won by 56-55 in a very close match.
14 teams entered the 2022 Quiz and the first two rounds of matches being completed in February. The Quarter-Finals takes place on Monday 14th March followed on the 21st March by the Semi-Finals and Final. Each Quiz evening starts at 7.30 pm and entry to watch is free. Refreshments are available.
Joint Quiz organisers John Spafford and Paul Turner are on their 10th year of running the Quiz together and use the Quiz as an opportunity to raise funds forcommunity groups in the village. £300 was raised in 2020 when the Quiz had to be abandoned with two weeks to go because of Covid.
