After the cancellation last year and the postponing of the Arts Trail from its usual date in June this year. The first weekend in September saw a welcome return to a celebration of the arts in our area with the Attenborough, Beeston and Chilwell Arts’ Trail.
This free community event was a treat for Artists and Makers who were not able to share their expertise and imagination as they usually do. The many people, both adults and children, who experienced the trail enjoyed the art and the community spirit which was in evidence everywhere. The venues were made covid safe with hand sanitiser and masks available and contactless payment completed the feeling of safety.
The children’s art competition produced some wonderful paintings and a selection of these were displayed in each venue. The art of the winners and those who were highly commended will also be displayed at the Canalside Heritage Centre early in 2022.
A further exhibition is planned, The ABC ART FAIR, by 14 of the artists at the Attenborough Village Hall on Sunday 10th October 10am till 4pm. There will be a café run especially in aid of Cancer Research so why not put the date in your diary. You will be supporting local artists and craft people as well helping to raise funds for such an important charity.
