It has been a successful start to the year for the West Bridgford branch of the RNLI (Lifeboats).
In February was the first event of the year; a Ceilidh evening at the Poppy and Pint, which saw 35 people join an evening of fun with music, dancing and dinner with a professional Ceilidh band. Along with a raffle of great prizes, some of which were kindly donated by local businesses, the event raised a total of £383 profit to support the RNLI.
The same weekend, local resident Mr Frear celebrated his birthday, and kindly put out a collection bucket for donations to the RNLI, raising a further £260; a huge thank you to Mr Frear and all of his friends and family for their generosity!
The West Bridgford RNLI AGM was held at the beginning of March, which confirmed the total raised for donation in 2022 was a fantastic £16,546! Thank you to the team of volunteers, and generous local community for their continued support.
There is a busy year ahead with many more events and collections to come, next of which will be the Spring Fair at Lutterall Hall on 20th May.
The RNLI are always keen to hear from potential volunteers to support the wide range of events and collections held each year.
If you are interested in getting involved in any capacity, please contact the WB RNLI via their facebook page or on [email protected].
