trentbarton is ready to welcome back more customers to its bus services, after the Prime Minister’s new coronavirus advice said anyone can now use public transport in England.
The Prime Minister’s statement on July 17 has been applauded by trentbarton, which has been asking for such a move for many weeks.
trentbarton’s timetables are already back to over 75 per cent of pre-lockdown levels, with further additions to come as more and more people resume travelling to work, for study and for leisure.
Jeff Counsell, managing director at trentbarton, said: “We’ve been asking for the Government to give public transport the green light for all customers to travel by bus and we’re very pleased with the Prime Minister’s announcement.
“For months now we have been running Covid-secure buses, with overnight deep cleans, ongoing cleaning each day, providing sanitiser stations, contactless payment and more.
“It is still mandatory for customers to wear a face covering on board, with some exceptions for particular medical conditions. And we still advise customers to clean their hands before boarding and not to travel if they feel unwell.
“Our thanks go to the countless customers who have helped keep themselves, their fellow passengers and our drivers safe during these difficult times by following the official advice.
“Now we can get many more people moving safely and securely as our region recovers and gets back to working, shopping, studying, socialising and meeting with family and friends.”
