40th Anniversary – What’s Next? Prostate Cancer!

08/05/2023 by Digital Media

Having singled out Motor Neuron Disease as a target for charitable fund-raising, the choir has now set its sights on Prostate Cancer. This will be the focus of the Choir’s next concert in May celebrating their 40th Anniversary. Once again it’s personal, with a choir member recovering successfully from a recent operation and being full of praise for the supporting organisation.

Forty years ago this year, the choir was formed and since then has raised over £400,000 in those forty years, performing in varied locations including Westminster Hall, The Albert Hall, The Cutty Sark in Greenwich, Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall, Belvoir Castle, village halls, 20 different cathedrals and numerous churches. Internationally, the choir has performed in Belgium, Germany, Italy, France and Wales. Particularly rewarding was joining with Radio Nottingham’s Choir Festival “MARK’S BIG SING” to support Children in Need. It’s been a lot of fun and hard work but performing and raising funds for such causes is one of the core tenets of the Choir.

The Anniversary concert is on 27th May at 7.30pm at St. Mary’s Church, Radcliffe on Trent, NG12 2FD and tickets are £10 from Pen 2 Paper, Main Street, from Ticketsource.co.uk (search Radcliffe on Trent), from Malcolm on 07950 098936– or just turn up at the door, you will be very welcome!
