Over 100 community events will take place in Broxtowe this year to help bring the local community together. Residents will be able to find out more about the events in a special leaflet being delivered to homes and businesses over the next few weeks.
“We’re very pleased to announce this programme of over 100 events in the Borough over the coming months” said Lead and Deputy Leader of the Council, Councillor Milan Radulovic MBE and Councillor Steve Carr.
“Organised in partnership with LLeisure, our leisure company and Town and Parish Councils across Broxtowe, there is something for everyone in the programme, whether it’s getting back to nature, something to keep the kids entertained in the school holidays or just an opportunity to have some fun with friends. 16 have already taken place and throughout the leaflet you will find information on planned events.”
“One of the highlights is going to be events to mark VE Day on the early May bank holiday, which has been moved to Friday 8th May. As well as events in locations across the Borough, there will be a special Freedom Parade in Eastwood with 150 soldiers and veterans marching through the town centre at 12.00pm. We’ll be releasing more information about this very soon.”
As well as the leaflet, residents are urged to look out for more events as they’re added to our online events calendar at www.broxtowe.gov.uk/wow or sign up to our Email Me service at www.broxtowe.gov.uk/emailme to receive our weekly ‘What’s On’ emails.
Local community and voluntary groups can also add their own events to the online calendar by clicking on the ‘publicise my event’ button.
