Two young dancers from the Leonard School of Dance in West Bridgford are appearing in an English Youth Ballet performance.
Emelia Oldershaw and Emily Steel are cast members of a new ballet, Cinderella in Hollywood.
Emily is a pupil at Abbey Road Primary School while Emelia attends Heymann Primary School.
The production features 100 young dancers who were selected in a competitive audition attended by over 350 youngsters.
Emilia said: “I started dancing when I was five. I started because my sister was dancing and she used to practice at home and I really wanted to be like her.
“I am looking forward to dancing with English Youth Ballet because I really like performance experiences.
“I performed with the company before in Giselle when I was nine. I am really happy to be back with the company.
“In the future I would like to be a dancer. If I don’t become a dancer I would like to become a doctor.”
The exciting new ballet at the Theatre Royal Nottingham stars international principal dancers – Samantha Camejo, Monica Tapiador, Claire Corruble, Philip Tunstall, Julianne Rice-Oxley, Oliver Speers, Steven Wheeler and Brenden Bratulic.
