On Wednesday 16 November 2016 at Grange Hall, Radcliffe-on Trent, Notts, the village prepares itself for WW2 Yankee landings in rural England, and an evening of comic misunderstandings on British life and culture.
This is theatre at its laughing best from Fol Espoir Theatre Company. It launches the RadVentures Autumn 2016/Spring 2017 season of ‘Live & Local’ professional entertainments on tour.
Everything from boiling food to death, to accents, to impossible to understand Imperial currency and obsessive tea drinking, all confuse the American servicemen.
The crack team of English officers charged with tutoring them in ‘Brit’ survival skills results in total chaos. It’s a classic case of American troops overpaid, overdressed and over here, pitted against the best of British stiff upper lip total stupidity.
And, it’s a certainty that a mixed age audience from 11+ will love this daft wartime romp and feel part of it from the very start; audience participation is positively encouraged!
