Local residents of Wilford are taking action to keep their community clean via a regular litter picking group.
The group, which started in May, meet at 8am for an hour every second and fourth Saturday of the month.
They alternate their start point from The Ferry Inn and The Tailors Arms.
Many members of the group are registered as Nottingham Clean Champions, a Nottingham City Council initiative which provides safety guidance, high-vis vests, gloves, sturdy bin bags and litter pickers.
It’s an informal group which is growing in momentum. Since May, 72 hours have been volunteered by members of the group across nine sessions.
This has resulted in the removal of 83 bags of litter from the local area.
