A West Bridgford student is celebrating after securing terrific exam results in her recent GCSEs.
Anke Halner took 11 GCSEs at Rushcliffe School and secured grade 9s in English Language, Maths, French, Spanish, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, two grade 8s in English Literature and History, as well as A*s in German, Further Maths and an additional Level 1 qualification in Latin.
The way exams are marked are being changed and eventually all will be assessed on a scale of 1 to 9, where the 8 mark is equivalent to an A* and 9 represents an A* mark secured by approximately the top 3% of scores in the subject.
Anke now plans to go on to study French, Spanish, Maths and Further Maths at A Level at the Rushcliffe Sixth Form Centre.
She follows in the footsteps of her brother, Andreas, who secured 13 A*s at GSCE and then went on to achieve 5 A*s at his A Levels.
“I am so proud and happy to have come out with these results,” said Anke.
“I would like to thank my parents, Alan and Vera, as well as my teachers at Rushcliffe School for their support.”
