Thinking of booking your UK holiday for 2019 but worried that mobility problems might stop you enjoying it?
Well, look no further than West Bridgford Shopmobility. They’re situated behind the library on Central Avenue in West Bridgford and can provide you with collapsible mobility scooters – which will fit into any car boot, coach luggage compartment or railway guard’s van – and wheelchairs on short-term hire.
It’s easy to arrange. If you’re not a Shopmobility member, you can sign up for just £10 a year, then you can hire the device to suit you for as little as £20 per week for wheelchairs, or £30 per week for scooters. And there’s no limit on the time you can hire them for.
It’s a sad fact that at this time of year, many of us find ourselves hospitalised and when we’re discharged, there’s the problem of how we get around while we’re convalescing.
Many hospitals have arrangements in place with organisations such as the Red Cross to provide post-operative support in this area, but they would be the first to admit that their resources are stretched.
Shopmobility is already liaising with local hospitals in the provision of scooters or wheelchairs to help former patients get their lives back to normal, as many satisfied members will confirm.
Do you know of a friend or relative who needs help to regain their mobility after a hospital stay, or an illness? Then why not get in touch with West Bridgford Shopmobility.
Marie Males, chairman of West Bridgford Shopmobility, said “We have been looking for ways to enhance the range of services we can provide and we believe that this is a logical step.”
Call 0115 981 5451, go online at www.wbshopmobility.co.uk , or pop in and chat to one of their volunteers. They’re open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am to 2pm.
Over the last couple of years they’ve already helped many local residents to make the most of their holidays, or to get on their feet again after illness – so why not you?
