Two local residents have produced a song about Nottingham’s tram extension. Brian Lund from Keyworth and Richard Williams of Compton Acres also made a video to go with the recording of their song ‘Long Long Gone’.
Brian told The Local News: “Rich and I knew each other years ago at South Wolds School in Keyworth and then met up a couple of years ago at a local guitar club.
“In March 2014, I wrote the song ‘Nottingham Take Me Back’, which he liked and offered to record it in his West Bridgford studio. Then we made a video to go with the recording, shot by another South Wolds contact Rob Inglis and his mate John Perring.
“Part of this was shot under and on Trent Bridge. It got a great reception and I’ve since written a stack of other songs.
“Long Long Gone basically came as a result of the Nottingham tram extension, as I idly wondered what was at the end of each line. Thus Hucknall got Lord Byron, Clifton had Jake Bugg and Beeston Bendigo. Then it was just a case of putting the words to music.
