Nottingham’s tram extension passed another key phase with a special trip for members of the media.
The tram took the passengers from Nottingham Train Station to Clifton, via Wilford Toll Bridge and Compton Acres.
The final touches are being put to stations along the route and testing is continuing.
The final stages will be for the tram to run a timetabled schedule with no passengers on board, ahead of the official opening date.
Tram bosses have yet to confirm a specific start date but say it will be “the middle of the year”.
Executive chairman of Tramlink, Phil Hewitt – who is pictured with Nottingham City Council’s Jane Urquhart – told The Local News: “These are exciting times for the tram and we look forward to opening very shortly.
“It is important we get the final testing out of the way and then we will have a launch date.”
