Tollerton youngster Thomas Graham–Jones is seeking sponsorship to fund his international volleyball ambitions.
The 16-year-old, who attends the Becket School in West Bridgford, is currently playing boys junior volleyball for Nottingham at under-16 and under-18 level.
He also plays for the boys East Midlands regional squad at under-15 and under-17 level.
Thomas has now progressed to playing Nottingham men’s third and second teams and, just before his 16th birthday, debuted for the Nottingham men’s first team.
His dad, Mark, said: “This all led Thomas to a trial for England Under-17s and the great news is that he is now part of the Volleyball England Under-17s squad.
“As volleyball is no longer a funded sport, sponsorship is needed to help Tomas represent his country.
“Thomas has to fund all of his own fees including hall hire, match fees, referees fees, travel expenses, hotels, training equipment, flights and even has to purchase his own England kit.
“There are weekend training camps every month, intensive holiday camps during school holidays and international travel throughout Europe to play in competitions.
“This amounts to thousands of pounds over the year so any donation, however large or small, would be very welcome.
“As it is his GCSE year and he is studying and training, he has no capacity to take on a part-time job.
“Any donation large or small will be blatantly rewarded with a gift. There are five on offer for different levels of sponsoring.
