Supermarket Tesco invited the RNLI nationally to collect in specified supermarkets throughout the country in February.
One of the nominated stores was at Beeston and as the West Bridgford branch is the nearest in the county to that location, they were asked by RNLI HQ if they could provide collects.
This they did, although owing to winter holidays, work and other commitments the team was somewhat depleted.
Nevertheless they manage to cover the event, with Wendyjean, the team leader, spending all day in the store and other collectors working double shifts.
Despite the problems this was a most successful collection, which raised £473.
The RNLI would like to thank the management and staff of Tesco for their help and support with this collection, the Beeston residents for their generosity and the collectors for their time and effort. Thank you all.
