Generous fundraisers donated hundreds of pounds to a charity at an annual petanque tournament in Tollerton, Nottingham.
Almost 50 people from midlands-based businesses took part in the event at the Air Hostess Pub to raise £250 for The British Heart Foundation, contributing to £2,410 already raised by G F Tomlinson in the same week.
The petanque event was organised by G F Tomlinson for construction firms on the East Midlands Property Alliance framework after a team of ten from the firm completed the gruelling Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge on 11 July.
Rob Sharman, framework manager for G F Tomlinson said: “We had plenty of people join us for this year’s annual petanque fundraising event. With fourteen teams from the Scape framework taking part it was a great networking opportunity too and we’re delighted so many people generously donated and sponsored the event.”
Rob also joined a team of twelve from G F Tomlinson, known as the ‘Tomlinson Trekkers’ who completed the gruelling Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge on 11 July. They walked 24 miles and climbed 3,000 ft as part of a fundraising drive for charity.
“We’re passionate about raising awareness of heart disease and money raised from the Three Peaks challenge, and the petanque tournament will go towards funding the British Heart Foundation’s life-saving heart research,” Rob added.
The businesses that took part in the petanque tournament include Scape/ East Midlands Property Alliance, Lindum, Jeakins Wier, Ashe Construction, Wates, Morgan Sindall, Cartwright Communications, Rizk McCay and G F Tomlinson.
