Two important planning applications have been submitted to Rushcliffe Borough Council, which could result in major projects in West Bridgford.
Plans to expand Rushcliffe Arena have been under consideration for some time, but an application has now been submitted, which includes a swimming pool, squash courts and other sporting facilities. If approved, the extension would see the closure of Rushcliffe Leisure Centre.
In addition, Rushcliffe Borough Council’s offices and meeting facilities would move there from the Civic Centre.
Meanwhile, another planning application has been submitted for the Sharphill area. Developers wish to build 280 dwellings in an area behind Edwalton Lodge Close and at the back of Rushcliffe School. The construction would also involve a play area and new access to the site.
Local residents can comment on the application via the planning section of the Rushcliffe Borough Council website at rushcliffe.gov.uk and it can by found by using reference 14/02715/FUL.
