Ruddington-based Wiggle and Giggle Music and Movement classes for babies and toddlers have won three prestigious Hoop awards.
Hoop, the app that lists local family-friendly activities, classes and events, recently announced its 2018 award winners.
Wiggle and Giggle Music and Movement scooped the top slot in three categories – Best for Babies, Best for Toddlers and Best for Mini-Performers.
Nominees were chosen based upon their popularity on Hoop and over 45,000 votes were cast by families across the country to find the UK’s favourite kids’ activities.
Wiggle and Giggle Music and Movement owner, Tamzin Palethorpe, said: “Knowing that we were up against so many well-established franchises, I really wasn’t expecting to win.
“So I feel a definite sense of achievement, it’s still sinking in.”
Tamzin set up Wiggle and Giggle Music and Movement in 2014 and her fun, energetic classes became popular very quickly.
To keep pace with the growing demand for more classes in more locations, Tamzin hired her first team member, Selena, last year and is now in the process of expanding further.
The three Hoop awards have come at just the right time for Tamzin.
“It’s wonderful to receive recognition for all the hard work of the past four years,” she said.
The road to success has not been an easy one for Tamzin.
Having struggled with postnatal depression after the birth of her two children, she wanted to do something that would help other parents to feel less isolated, and provide a comfortable enough environment for them to open up and talk about their struggles if they want to.
“While our classes aim to develop confidence, creativity and co-ordination, they also offer an opportunity for parents to make friends, share advice and feel part of a supportive network,” explained Tamzin.
“Without my loyal customers, Wiggle and Giggle wouldn’t be where it is today. I am truly thankful to them for their support and for taking the time to vote for us.”
Wiggle and Giggle Music and Movement classes run in a number of locations across Nottinghamshire.
