Beeston residents are being urged to have their say on how they would like to see The Square continue to be redeveloped for the future.
The short questionnaire is available on Broxtowe Borough Council’s website at www.broxtowe.gov.uk/beestonsquare and gives local residents an opportunity to give their thoughts on the Beeston Square Phase 2 Plan, which has been produced in conjunction with the council’s Beeston Town Centre Advisory Committee to help encourage developers and investment into the town.
The plan aims to help promote Beeston Square as an attractive and vibrant development to potential investors and encourage development, which will support social, economic and community activity.
It also plans to ensure that Beeston continues to be a destination serving not only its own community, but also attracting people into the town from elsewhere.
The Phase 2 Plan follows Phase 1 of the redevelopment of the site which has seen the shopping precinct fully refurbished and extended to include a café, gym and retail space.
At such an important time for Broxtowe, the views of local residents are extremely important and the council are keen to hear from as many residents, business and shoppers as possible.
They will be promoting the questionnaires across the borough, including through Beeston BID, Beeston and District Civic Society.
Council officers will also be on hand at a number of events with hardcopies of the Phase 2 Plan and questionnaire.
The first event took place at the weekend and they will also be available to answer any questions on the following dates:
Monday 18th May, Beeston Square from 10am to 2pm
Saturday 30th May, Beeston Square from 10am to 2pm
Hardcopies of the Beeston Square Phase 2 Plan and questionnaire are also available at the Council Offices on Foster Avenue.
The questionnaire will run on the Council’s website until Monday 22nd June.
