Radcliffe Ladies Choir have just completed a visit to Suffolk. The choir sang at Ely Cathedral in their Lady Chapel.
Choir secretary, Sheila Brumfitt, said: “It was a wonderful experience at Ely Cathedral. We then went on to Aldburgh to sing in their church.
“This, of course, is Benjamin Britten country and his gravestone, together with that of Peter Pears, is to be found in the churchyard.
“We had a really enjoyable time and are now rehearsing for our annual summer concert on the 4th July, entitled ‘Americana’.
“We are looking forward to having as our guests ‘The Teddy Fullick Jazz Quartet’, so the concert should go with a real swing.
“We look forward to seeing all of our usual friends there, which should be a really good evening.”
The choir are also singing the following week at the Radcliffe Carnival in the Grange Hall. Tickets are £9 each and are on sale from Pen2Paper in the village or from any choir member.
If you are interested in belonging to a choir, you are invited to pop along on a Wednesday night at 7:30pm in the Church Hall in Radcliffe, where you will be given a warm welcome.
