Radcliffe Chiropractic were delighted to be able to donate 117 sleeping bags and £550 to Emmanuel House in Nottingham as a result of their Christmas charity collection.
The team at Radcliffe Chiropractic asked patients and local people to donate unused sleeping bags, so that someone without a home would have a warm bed for Christmas.
For those who didn’t have spare sleeping bags they asked for a donation.
The team did collections in Radcliffe-on-Trent and even slept outside in car park, enduring rain and 45mph winds to encourage more people to donate.
The response from the local community was fantastic and the volunteers at Emmanuel House said it was the biggest collection of sleeping bags they had ever received.
They were also grateful to be given much-needed cash collections to help them fund the running of the centre.
Emmanuel House helps the homeless and vulnerable in Nottingham with basic needs such as food, clean clothes and a shower with the aim of helping them find homes and jobs to re-build their lives.
Radcliffe Chiropractic clinic director, Naomi Mills, said: “When we visited the centre we discovered that having somewhere where homeless people can connect with each other and feel valued is vital to their well-being and recovery.
“Chiropractic is all about connecting people to healing and so we felt it would be very fitting to support this local charity.
“We look forward to trying to better our achievement next year.”
