Organisers say they are thrilled at the success of the second Pride of Clifton Children’s award.
The very special award, organised by the Clifton Donation Group and sponsored by NG11 Cars, first took place last year.
This year’s winner was Zack Bradley, a little boy who was born with only half of his heart working.
One of the organisers, Maria Watson, told the Local News: “Zack has undergone a few open-heart surgeries with more to come.
“He is an amazing youngster and fully deserves to be this year’s winner.
“Clifton has some amazing young children that were nominated for the award – and each and every child is a winner in their own right.
“The event was full to bursting point and was attended by councillor Andrew Rule and sergeant Nigel Bradley from Clifton police.
“We would like to thank the Clifton Donation Group for putting this wonderful event together.
“Thanks also to our sponsors NG11 Cars, Co-op Funeral Care on Farnborough Rd for donating the beautiful table balloons, Anton Adams from Helium Heaven balloon supplies for donating the huge winners’ balloon and Kate’s Great Cakes for the beautiful celebration cake.
“This event brought tears to everyone’s eyes some heart-pulling stories of courage and bravery and young children that want to improve our community through litter picking and fundraising.”
