St Peter’s Cross Keys Church of England Academy in Farndon found itself invaded by swashbuckling pirates for the day.
Year one class teacher Joanne Hoult said that the day was organised and planned by children in year two Blithe Class, who have been making a special study of pirates.
She said: “The day started off with ships roll-call where the children used proper pirate sounds.
“The children also enjoyed pirate themed games such as sleeping pirates, Captain Says, counting pirate doubloons and musical pirate statues.”
The day was completed with pirate cake which the year two children had made and decorated.
Joanne Hoult said the event has been a great way to bring the topic to a close.
“The children truly enjoyed a fantastic day which brought learning to life in such a fun and interactive way,” she said.
