The industrious team at Oxjam Beeston HQ are busy cooking up plans for this year’s Oxjam Music Festival.
Here’s a few dates for your diary…
- Oxjam Beeston Takeoveron Saturday 13th October 2018. Once again Beeston will come alive with music as a multitude of local artists and bands perform at venues across the town from midday to midnight.
- Oxjam Unpluggedat the Middle Street Resource Centre on Saturday 22nd September.
- Classical Oxjam at Beeston Parish Church on Saturday 17th November.
- Oxjam Ceilidh with the Beeston Ceilidh Collective at the Royal British Legion on Saturday 1st December.
There are one or two other plans in the pipeline including Oxjam Beeston House Concerts, so watch this space.
Beeston has a sterling track record in its support of Oxjam, having raised a fantastic £85,000 for Oxfam since it started in 2011, and consistently ranking high amongst the other Oxjam fundraisers which take place across the country each year.
This staggering achievement is due to the generosity and wonderful community spirit within the town.
There’s the local talented artists who all perform for free, the town centre venues who host events, local business sponsors, the volunteers who make up the organising team, as well as others who volunteer on Takeover Day and, of course, the wider community who buy tickets, come along to enjoy the events and dig into their pockets for loose change to put in the collection buckets.
The team are very optimistic this year and hope to see this truly community event boost the running total of money raised to smash through the £100,000 barrier.
Do you want to get involved? Does your band want to take part? Would you like to know more about hosting or performing at a house concert? Would you or your business like to be a sponsor? Could you be a volunteer at the Takeover?
