Throughout March, over 40 competitors from the Notts Gymnastic Academy took part in two East Midlands Regional Grades competitions.
Gymnasts between the ages of seven and 13 took part in various levels of competition, with the opportunity not only to pass their grade, but also to contend for medals against the rest of the field of competitors.
All of the girls performed exceptionally well, especially as this was many of the youngest gymnasts first experience of a regional level competition.
The academy’s gymnasts achieved a 100% pass rate across all of the competitions, with 20 gymnasts earning commended passes and nine achieving the mark required to be awarded a distinction at their respective grades.
In addition to this, a trio of silver medals were won by Bella Saunders-Lucas in the National Grade 4 competition, Erin Prentice in Club Grade 5 and Millie Browne in Club Grade 6.
Finally, eight-year-old Lily Reyes was crowned East Midlands regional championat National Prep Grade 5 following a faultless performance across all apparatus.
Head of Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, Katie Foster,said: “We are very proud of all of the performances given by our gymnasts.
“The maturity and composure they showed was fantastic and they represented the academy exceptionally well.
“We are delighted with the results they produced and I believe that these girls have a bright future ahead of them.”
