Notts County Football in the Community (FITC) is a registered charity working independently, but still very closely with the world’s oldest football club Notts County Football Club.
We deliver over 25 projects within the local community in and around Nottinghamshire which use sport as a way of raising aspirations, keeping fit and engaging participants.
FITC work with a wide range of groups across Nottingham on a daily basis of all ages, abilities and disabilities to deliver a range of activities.
Current projects we deliver include; Sports sessions in primary schools (supported by Kinder+ and Premier League Sport), Extra Time football for men over 55’s (supported by Nottingham City Of Football),
men’s working age dementia (supported by Alzheimer’s Society), CARE for recovering cancer patients (supported by Macmillan cancer) and many others including women’s mental health sessions.
FITC are proud to deliver a range of innovative programmes that make a positive difference to people in Nottingham, raise aspirations and support some of the most disadvantaged,
marginalised and talented people across the city. Our fundamental aims are to raise awareness of our work and importantly, raise vital funds to ensure the sustainability of the many projects
we deliver in and around Nottinghamshire. As a charity, we raise all our own funding and are successful at designing innovative projects that target specific groups of local people.
We are now expanding into the area of fundraising to try to sustain the vital projects we currently deliver as well as using funding to design new programmes in Nottinghamshire.
As a result, Notts County FITC have organised a calendar of events for the next year. During the next twelve months, we will organise our own events in addition to working with current organisers to encourage local people within
Nottingham as well as our own fans to fundraise for our worthwhile projects. We are also hoping to form working partnerships with local businesses who are interested in supporting our community work.
The first event FITC have organised is a race night on Thursday 26th November, which is being held at the club’s Meadow Lane Bar from 19:30pm. Tickets are £2 in advance with horse sponsorship
Available at £3 or race sponsorship open to businesses who can sponsor a race and secure 10 tickets in a booth area for £40. The evening includes a raffle to win a number of prizes including a signed
Notts County shirt. All proceeds go towards FITC projects in Nottinghamshire. By attending our events or signing up for a challenge, supporters of FITC will have contributed directly to our work and
made a positive impact upon the work we do with adults and children locally. Last week, we were awarded the community award at The Nottingham Post Sport’s awards, where FITC ambassador Les
Bradd also won the lifetime achievement award.
