New street features have been installed on Melton Road in West Bridgford designed to improve the experience of visitors to the shopping area.
A new seating area, colourful planters and easily accessible bins have now been added to the area.
West Bridgford Growth Board chairmancouncillor Roger Upton welcomed the improvements to Melton Road in conjunction with those outlined in the West Bridgford Commissioners’ Report to further boost the development of the West Bridgford Way, created earlier this year.
He said: “We’re delighted with the new features and we’ll continue to listen and work with business owners and shoppers alike as to how footfall to local businesses here and across West Bridgford can be increased.”
The seating area was installed outside Manor Pharmacy by the authority’s ground maintenance contractors Streetwise Environmental Services Limited to provide shoppers with an opportunity to take a break.
Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Andy Edyvean said: “Melton Road offers a wonderful range of local, independent businesses for the discerning shopper and these improvements will ensure that visitors continue to enjoy their time spent in the shopping district.”
