Plans to build new homes on land between Clifton Hall and Clifton Woods have been approved by the Nottingham City Council.
The proposed new housing estate, which is to be located on the western fringes of Clifton and directly west of the A453, will be accessible from Hawksley Gardens and see approximately 278 new homes be built.
Although the scheme has been agreed in principle, the final details of the proposal, which was put forward jointly by the city council and Nottingham Trent University, have yet to be released.
Further adjustments plus final specifications are expected be agreed and published later.
In a document published on behalf of the applicants on the council’s planning department website, they said: “Clifton West is a highly deliverable site that can be brought forward as a comprehensive and sustainable development.
“It is closely related to the settlement pattern of Clifton and in walking distance to a range of local services.
“The site is respectful of environmental context, seeking to include a mixture of good quality market and affordable homes, open space and landscaping.”
