More than £7.5 million pounds is set to be invested in and around Bingham after the announcement of plans for 317 homes in the area.
The new development by housebuilders Barratt and David Wilson Homes is called Romans’ Quarter and the funding will be used to support services and improve facilities for both new and existing residents.
Among the contributions is more than £5.8m towards education provision for purchasers at the development, including primary and secondary schooling.
Also included is more than a £270,000 contribution towards the railway station and parking, and over £600,000 for various transport, traffic and road facilities in the area.
Chris Southgate, managing director at Barratt Homes North Midlands, said: “As a five-star housebuilder, we pride ourselves on our commitment to the local community and strive to support it wherever we can.
“Investing in local communities is an extremely important part of building a new housing development.”
John Reddington, managing director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, added: “As Romans’ Quarter begins to progress we will not only be contributing to the area financially, but also in terms of the jobs we have created for local people and the quality homes we are building.”
Romans’ Quarter, located on Chapel Lane, is a new development that will provide a selection of two to five-bedroom homes in Bingham.
