With stars in the sky, as well as on the screen, Toton’s very first Drive-In Film Festival is set to provide a unique experience for hundreds of movie fans next month.
Jointly supported by Nottingham’s tram network and Smooth Radio, the free festival will allow lucky ticket holders the chance to park up and watch a film from the comfort of their car at NET’s Toton Lane park & ride site on Sunday, November 27.
Aiming to kick off the Christmas countdown, the event will see festively-themed screenings of family favourite, Home Alone, in the afternoon and the Bruce Willis action classic, Die Hard, in the evening.
Tickets for both screenings are free and film fans can register for the chance to win them by visiting smoothradio.com and entering their details. Winners will be picked at random and full terms and conditions can be found on Smooth Radio’s website.
Stephanie Moss-Pearce, NET’s Assistant Marketing Manager, explained: “We’re really looking forward to what promises to be a very special event and we’ve already seen a huge interest in the festival from people in the local area and further afield.
“Situated just off the A52 and with close proximity to the M1 and other major routes, the Toton Lane park & ride is a popular choice with our customers and provides the perfect choice to host an event such as this.”
Phil Hudson, Head of Commercial at Smooth Radio East Midlands, added: “Following on from the tremendous interest in our inaugural event at Clifton we are delighted to team up again with NET Trams and bring the Film Festival to Toton Lane.
“We’re very much looking forward to welcoming listeners and commuters as they enjoy these classic Christmas films as the perfect way to kick off the festive season.”
