A Clifton eyesore has been turned into a brand-new Co-op with the completion of a new supermarket on the estate.
The site of the former petrol station on Farnborough Road had been derelict for more than seven years, but it has now been totally transformed and in the process created jobs for local people.
The new store, which was officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Nottingham councillor Ian Malcolm on Friday 28th November, has created 16 new jobs.
It will provide a wide range of products and services to meet the needs of the local community.
Store manager, Daniel Boden, said: “This is an exciting time for myself and the team and we all look forward to welcoming customers and showing off our new store.
“We also look forward to becoming a valued part of the local community. We were delighted that the Mayor joined us for the celebrations and thank him for his support.”
The Lord Mayor said: “This latest investment in the area by Central England Co-operative is great news.
“Not only will the new store provide local residents with additional shopping choices, it has brought new jobs to the area. I wish the team well.”
