A long-standing teacher at Sir John Sherbrooke Junior School in Calverton is leaving for pastures new.
Popular teacher Graham Knott has been at the school for 24 years, but has decided it is time to move on.
He told the Calverton Local News: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the wonderful parents and members of the community who have shared my vision and dreams and supported me in helping to educate their children and improve the school.
“Since January 1994 I have worked with over 750 children with whom I have shared some brilliant moments that I shall never forget.
“Christmas productions such as Cinderella and Joseph, the summer fairs, residential trips, winning cricket and football cups, great days out at Cathy’s Farm learning about the environment, art lessons with Sue Keane and, dare I say it, teaching The Worm Song.
“I have also been lucky to have worked with some brilliant teachers all of whom have now left but who many of you will remember, including Mrs Glover, Mrs Rothera, Mr Windibank, Miss France and Miss Brown.
“I wish all the staff and children at Sherbrooke all the very best for the future. Thank you so much.”
