Two local women have been busy over the last few months raising money for charity. Janet Richie and Sue Lockwood, from Bingham Methodist Church, are pictured presenting staff at QMC’s Major Trauma Centre with a cheque for £802.29.
The money is being donated to Nottingham Hospitals Charity’s Saving Lives Helipad Appeal. Janet and Sue raised the cash by busking outside the church at Christmas time.
Sue played the piano, whilst Janet sang – and they encouraged members of the congregation to donate money instead of sending Christmas cards.
The Saving Lives Helipad Appeal is raising £3m to build an on-site helipad at QMC, to help speed up transfer times for critically-injured patients being taken to the East Midlands Major Trauma Centre by air ambulance. You can find out more at nottinghamhospitalscharity.org.uk.
