Jessica Neil, senior stylist at KH Hair in West Bridgford, is celebrating a double whammy after being named a finalist in the Oscars of the hair industry, the British Hairdressing Awards (BHA) 2015.
The news follows recent celebrations as Jessica was announced as a finalist in Wella’s annual Trend Vision competition, designed to find the best young talent in the country.
The BHAs have been raising the profile of talented hairdressers for the past 30 years and this is the first year in a generation that a KH Hair stylist has entered and so the entire team are delighted with the news that Jessica is in the finals.
Sean and Debbie McMenamin, directors at KH Hair West Bridgford, said: “We are thrilled for Jess. She works incredibly hard both in and outside the salon and she thoroughly deserves her place in the finals.
“We support her all the way and will be cheering her on when she takes to the stage on awards night in November.”
Jessica said: “The BHAs are the ultimate accolade and just to have my name up there amongst so many inspiring peers is an honour, particularly as I’m the only girl in my category.
“Of course I’m nervous but I’m just on cloud nine at the moment and have to keep looking at the short list to check I haven’t dreamt it.
“With this and the Trend Vision finals in October, it’s certainly going to be a busy few months and I can’t wait to let all my creative juices run wild as I start prepping my looks and honing my skills.”
