Cotgrave Service Station has signed a sponsorship deal with Radcliffe-on-Trent Golf Club junior’s team, providing the money to buy new match squad kits and significantly improve the coaching they offer to their young members.
The £1,500 deal that the car garage – based on Main Road, Cotgrave – has pledged will allow the club to buy a new dedicated match squad kit for their 12 junior squad members, who are all under 18 years old.
The branded polo shirts, which will include the Cotgrave Service Station logo, are from the luxury golf clothing company Glenmuir and will present a professional image for the young team when competing in matches against other clubs.
It will also provide the money to offer a structured approach to the team’s coaching which will be run through the accredited HSBC Golf Roots initiative.
This includes the ‘Junior Golf Passport’ scheme that teaches the game of golf in a fun and interactive way, recording progress and rewarding individual achievement.
Jason Smith, chairman of the Radcliffe-on-Trent Golf Club’s junior section, said: “We are really pleased to have Cotgrave Service Station on board with us, so that all of our 50 plus junior members are given the structured approach to coaching they deserve.
“The match squad will be kitted out in smart new kit for all our competitions.”
Lee Whiteman, director of Cotgrave Service Station, said: “Cotgrave Service Station takes a keen interest in supporting a wide range of local businesses and I am proud to offer our support to the junior section of the golf club.
“I hope the money helps give the young keen golfers more opportunities within the club.”
