People disappointed not to secure a place in the Simplyhealth Great North Run have a second chance by snapping up one of our charity places.
The ballot for the world’s biggest half marathon closed on Monday and hopefuls have been notified. For those who missed out in the ballot, we have guaranteed places for the event on Sunday 8 September.
By signing up to run on behalf of us, your sponsorship will be helping to support children and young people with life-limited illnesses and their families.
Nancy Lillington, Rainbows’ Events Manager, said: “The Simplyhealth Great North Run is a fabulous event and we are delighted to be able to offer so many places for people to run on behalf of Rainbows. Not only will you be taking on an incredible personal challenge by running in one of the world’s most iconic races, you will also be helping to raise funds to care for children, young people and their families who desperately need our support. We cannot thank you enough for that.
“The event may seem like a huge challenge but our dedicated events team will support you every step of the way providing help and tips for your training, fundraising and race day support. We can help with advice on accommodation and transportation and as part of Team Rainbows, we will meet you at the finish line with refreshments, a massage and hospitality.”
