Nottingham Rowing Club are celebrating gold and bronze at the English Indoor Rowing Championships.
The event, organised by Hollingworth Lake Rowing Club, took place at the Manchester Velodrome and was raced on Concept 2 indoor rowing machines over 2,000m and 500m for individuals and 3,000m for teams of four.
Club vice-president Tony Lorrimer won the gold in the 70+ lightweight class and his time makes him one of the fastest in the country, over 2,000m, in his age group.
The girls’ U16 team of Bella Barlow (Nottingham High School for Girls), Jenna Draycott (Kesteven & Grantham Girls School), Abi Clark(East Leake Academy) and Aimee Richards (Carlton Academy) raced 12 other teams and won bronze.
Earlier, Jenna had rowed over a 2,000m piece in a personal best of 7m 45secs.
Andy Townsend, a medallist at the British Championships in London last December, was fourth in a tough 50+ heavyweight group.
