West Bridgford-based cricket club nears its century

30/01/2019 by DigitalS

West Bridgford-based cricket club Ellerslie, who were founded in 1923, is now 96 years strong.

The club is a thriving community asset that offers coaching and competitive cricket for players of all abilities from five to 60 plus.

It enjoys the ECB’s Clubmark accreditation, has an active and expanding junior section, runs 11 junior teams and welcomes youngsters of all abilities.

High levels of volunteering and family involvement are features of the club.

The club is now on a fundraising drive to replace its bank of three outdoor practice nets, which are now 15 years old.

New nets will instill confidence and provide young players and adults with a safer, improved playing surface for quality practice.

The club is seeking community support to help achieve its ambitions and anyone wishing to donate can simply Google ‘Ellerslie JustGiving’ and contribute.

All donations, however small, will be greatly appreciated.

More information about Ellerslie CC is available on the club’s website at https://ellerslie.play-cricket.com
