Fifty children from Brookside Primary School in East Leake descended on Charnwood College, Loughborough to compete in a mini triathlon.
The event, organised by the Brownlee Foundation, is a project founded by Jonny and Alistair Brownlee to promote the sport and ensure as many children as possible have access to the World of triathlon.
The event consisted of a 50m swim, 800m bike and a 600m run.
In total, over 1,200 children finished the event on the day, which was held in glorious September sunshine.
It is an incredibly well organised event, with all equipment supplied and each child receiving a t-shirt, medal, swim hat and extensive goody bag for finishing.
The Brownlee brothers themselves, who were not able to attend the event this year as they are competing in Australia, sent a video link message to the children wishing them luck on the day.
This is the second year Brookside children have been fortunate enough to take part in the event and with a growing band of budding triathletes, they may just hold the next generation of Olympic medallists.
