The event will take place at various gardens around the village – including a bee farm – on Sunday 23rd June from 12noon until 5pm, ensuring that most visitors will have time to visit the 16 or more gardens open to welcome them.
Teas and homemade cakes will be available at one venue and entrance is £5 person, £8 per couple and under-15s free.
You can buy a programme and map at any garden, just follow local signage.
The Gang of Four – Alec, Nick, Barbara and Linda – have spent time and effort in ensuring that you have a good afternoon.
This has involved planning, publicity and fundraising to cover up-front costs, which has occupied the gang’s winter hours, as well as recruiting participants.
The new Blue Diamond Garden Centre, on our doorstep, has generously offered financial support, as have the Royal Oak public house, Lowdhams Caravans and the Hill Club.
We have encouraged local gardeners, with a wide range of garden styles and sizes, to open their gates for maybe the first time in order to share their enthusiasm for gardening with you.
From being eager visitors to open gardens elsewhere, we have wanted to share the interest and fun of seeing what others have done with their plot.
Keen gardeners may gather ideas and information from the expertise of participants.
The proceeds of East Bridgford Open Gardens will be shared between Nottinghamshire Hospice and a local outdoor improvement scheme, which will benefit residents of East Bridgford.
Please make a note of the date and time and we are hoping for good weather.
