A long-standing member of a Calverton school is to retire at the end of the summer term.
Dorothy Finch has been the office manager and lead administrator at Manor Park Infant School and Nursery on Flatts Lane in Calverton for 29 years.
Recently retired head teacher, Carol Litowczuk, said: “Dorothy Finch has worked untiringly for Manor Park throughout her time at the school.
“She is 100% committed to the children and families – and to the ongoing success of Manor Park, which is now under the leadership of the new head teacher Stefanie Hanson.
“Professional, dedicated and thoughtful, the support Dorothy has given to myself and to the staff team over the years has been outstanding.
“In addition to carrying out her administrative role with quiet efficiency and diligence, Dorothy has always been busy behind the scenes and is many things to many people.
“She is super organised and nothing has been too much trouble. Every Christmas she wrapped all our presents for the children. Over 29 years this amounts to more than 6,000 presents.
“As one teacher remarked ‘Dorothy cares so much for every aspect of the school’.
“We have all benefited from her wide ranging expertise, her respect for and knowledge of the local community and her determination to do her best for every child.
“Dorothy Finch continues as an active member of the governing body of Manor Park, making important contribution to strategic development and helping to continue the outstanding work of the school within Calverton.
“You will be much missed Dorothy, your contribution to Manor Park has been immeasurable. A very big thank you from all your colleagues and friends.”
