Plans by Nottingham City Council are under way to introduce new driveways for residents’ council houses in Clifton.
The project, formally approved by the council last month, would see approximately £65,000 being spent to build around 20 new driveways within the North and Clifton South wards, which would cost residents either £5 or £6 a week.
It is hoped the scheme, which would only apply to Clifton properties owned by Nottingham City Homes, will help to ease congestion and parking troubles that have been described as an “ongoing problem” by affected residents living in the estate for many years.
It is initially being trialled in areas where the council feels streets are most congested around Nottingham and it is hoped that following further public consultation, work could start as early as next month.
