Two aspiring martial artists in Cotgrave have secured a sponsorship from Barratt Homes North Midlands ahead of a karate championship later in the year.
Marcus (15) and Daniel (11) Chewings received a backing of £250 to go towards their travelling, equipment and training ahead of the SKIF World Championships, which are being hosted in the Czech Republic.
Their mother, Hayley Chewings, said: “We were all surprised and grateful to Barratt Homes for sponsoring the children through their sport and love for karate.
“This financial help will allow the boys to access different events and training around the country which will help towards their preparation for the World Championships in the Czech Republic this summer.
“The boys are very happy that Barratt Homes has the confidence in them to help them on their karate journey.”
Jan Ruston, sales director at Barratt Homes North Midlands, said: “We’re thrilled to have sponsored Marcus and Daniel and we wish them the very best of luck for the SKIF World Championships.
“As a leading housebuilder, it’s important to us to support local groups and individuals within the communities we build.
“Hobbies such as this unite residents, boosting morale within the neighbourhood and creating an identity for the young people involved.”
