A young Clifton resident is hoping to inspire others after writing his first novel.
James Carver, 16, published ‘The Book of Time’ recently after being diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
He told The Local News: “We had a pretty good idea for a while that I probably had ADHD.
“I can be easily distracted and certain things I need to do, or subjects I need to study, can suffer as a consequence.
“But I want to make the most of things still – that is why I have written this book.
“Overall, I am still able to do things I like. But sometimes I need help. I believe the disorder has influenced me to write.
“By writing my books and poems it shows people that just because I have ADHD, it has not stopped me from having a normal life. I hope others can do the same.”
The book is about a woman who gets shot and dies while in the arms of the main character, Percy Harold.
She gives him a parcel, which he does not open for 20 years. When he does it takes him on a world adventure in pursuit of her killer.
