The procedure is illegal as the materials are of inferior quality and the workmanship is dangerous and a hazard to the public. Any residents taking up this offer will have to pay for the kerb to be rectified and made safe.
Reports suggest the ‘contractor’ is a man wearing a high-vis non-marked vest and is driving a white flatbed van. Community protection officers are working with Trading Standards to investigate the activity.
The council’s advice to residents is to avoid accepting any work offers from companies around this matter. Please contact Nottingham City Council on 0115 915 2000 and ask for the Highways Service, or call 101 to report anything worthy of note.
