A design student from Nottingham Trent University Clifton Campus has created a beach towel for surfers which transforms into a jacket.
Twenty-year-old Chloe Brown made the sports garment with microfiber towelling which absorbs eight times more water than the average towel.
The beach towel transforms into a jacket by virtue of a series of press-studs, which form the arms and torso of a typical sports coat.
Chloe, from Clifton, designed it as part of a sustainable surfing fashion collection and brand as part of her final year BA Fashion Design Product degree.
She said: “As a surfer myself, I know how useful it would be to have a towel which doubles-up as a jacket to keep the wearer warm after a session in the water,
“Not only is it extremely practical, but it’s also environmentally friendly as it doesn’t create waste in production and saves on materials.”
