Burton Joyce Tennis Club enters its 81st year of existence in 2019 – a fantastic achievement.
The recent AGM, which was held on 20th January, reminded members that the club is still going strong.
The club has a great community spirit and they are always improving facilities for current and new members.
Many important developments have taken place over the years. This includes building a third court at Burton Joyce Tennis Club.
It means that the club are able to enter the competitive Nottinghamshire leagues Meanwhile, floodlights provide all year-round court accessibility.
Last year saw the introduction of a bar in the clubhouse, which has encouraged social activities like quizzes and Christmas parties.
A ball machine supports those wanting to practice their newly-learnt skills, while a range of junior competitions and adult open days encourage a vibrant atmosphere at the club.
Cups and plaques were presented to all the club competition winners – where participation was the highest for some years – at the awards evening, which ran alongside the AGM on Sunday 20th January. This was followed by a very successful quiz.
