Who can believe that July has flown by already? The school year has flown by too and it’s that time again when we celebrate and share with you the successes of the past year.
Whether it’s helping on a stall, baking cakes, packing bags or just supporting our events by buying tickets and spending money, everyone’s efforts have combined to raise just over £14,000.
As many of you will know from our regular updates, last year’s fundraising efforts were put towards the restocking of the library and this has continued this year in advance of its relocation and refurbishment during the holidays.
We’ve also bought new curtains for the school hall, which have made a huge difference, especially in the hot weather. And the remaining funds are being used to install new play equipment in the KS1 playground.
Once again, the summer fair was a roaring success, with Dako’s Flying Angels kicking off proceedings in style.
We had more performances than ever, with Robin Hood Gymnastics, the Carlton Brass Band, school dance and recorder groups – and who could forget the flossing masterclass.
All that alongside the usual stalls, games, BBQ and refreshments, which provided plenty of amusement and opportunities to spend a few pennies. And all those pennies certainly add up, as our grand total was £4,002.
A massive thank you to everyone who helps out and comes to support us, whether that’s helping at our events, selling raffle tickets in the Co-op, providing prizes or coming and showing support in person. We couldn’t do it without you.
