Autumn term is well and truly under way now and everyone is getting settled into their new classrooms and new routines.
We’d like to say a big hello to all the new parents who have joined the school, many of which we met at the Tea and Tissues coffee morning on the first morning.
As many of you know, last year’s fundraising saw us generate another spectacular amount, totalling more than £14,000.
Some of this bought new curtains for the school hall before the end of term – a godsend in the hot sunny weather – and more was used to finalise the move of the library over the summer holidays, including restocking with books and new furniture.
New play equipment has been installed in the KS1 playground, including an all-weather surface and the PTA is also financing new sports kit for school teams.
One again we’ve got a whole lot planned for this term and beyond.
Some dates for your diary…
12th October: Second-hand toy and book sale in the school hall from 3:30pm
1st December: Christmas Fair from 1pm
At both events we’d be delighted to see visitors from the village come and support us.
Come and pick up a pre-Christmas bargain at the toy and book sale and get into the festive spirit at the Christmas Fair.
Featuring a mix of stalls, entertainment and refreshments for all ages, join us for some festive fun before the annual parade to the Christmas lights switch-on in the centre of the village.
We are also taking bookings for external stalls at the Christmas Fair, so if you’re a crafter or a maker and would like to show off your wares then please do get in touch.
Finally, it goes without saying that none of our success over the past year – and hopefully into 2019 – would be possible without a massive team effort.
Not just people linked to the school but everyone in the village who buys raffle tickets, visits the garage sale safari and supports us.
Please look out for details of all our events and general goings-on in here or on our Facebook page and if you run a business and would like to donate a raffle prize, sponsor a stall or help in any other way do let us know.
We look forward to seeing you at an event soon.
