Broxtowe-based club raising thousands for charity

01/07/2019 by Digital Media

A club from the Borough of Broxtowe is raising thousands of pounds for charity.

Members of the world-wide organisation called the Buffaloes – or the RAOB Grand Lodge of England – meet at the Equalized Club on Albert Avenue inStapleford on a Friday evening (8pm).

One of the members, Jim Roy, told the Beeston Local News: “We are a fraternal organisation.

“We raise money for charity each year and this year it is Children’s Air Ambulance, while last year it was Treetops Hospice who we raised £1,000 for.

“Some of us recently visited one of our elder statesmen in the QMC to present a long-service jewel or, as most people call them,a medal.

“Brother Ken has been a member since 1975 but is no longer well enough to attend the lodge, so we visited to let him know we are still thinking of him.”
